Bell Canada Samsung Galaxy S2 ICS 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich firmware update I9100MUGLD3 release

Bell Canada Samsung Galaxy S2 Ice Cream Sandwich update is now online on Kies, the firmware with build number IML74K.UGLD3 I9100MUGLD3-I9100MBMCLD3 with a build date of  April 23, 2012. This is a good news for some Canadian folks that have been waiting for the ICS twist for the Galaxy S2 users this year.
Although, there's a little bit delay for it takes mostly a little while for some of major carriers to have a careful check-up and undergoing testing of the newest firmware just to ensure that the said firmware is okay like free of any bugs etc before they release it to the subscribers. This unlikely that most of unbranded version were getting first of any newest update because there's no carrier network to blame if some bugs are present or some issues might have. ( I'm writing a full list here..branded version were a little bit delayed)

We only spotted for the Bell carrier so far, other Canadian carrier variants like Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE (SGH-i727R) Telus Samsung Galaxy S II 4g (SGH-T989D)s,  Galaxy S2 LTE HD and Galaxy S2 X might follow anytime from now.. We are now keeping an eye of all Canadian and US variants, for Europe and Asia were almost completed the said ICS updates. Not only only on Samsung Galaxy S2 ,but this includes the Galaxy Note and Tablets  like the Galaxy Tab 7.0, Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Galaxy Tab 10.1.

So, just check it out on Kies, or via FOTA (Firmware over the air), for it will probably roll out anytime from now. You can also check out Tom Gray's blog Androidincanada.ca as he reported it yesterday.

  1. Been having trouble trying to update mine all day. According to Kies my device is not able to update via Kies. It's a stock Bell Galaxy S2. Haven't updated, or changed anything since I've gotten it. Yet I am unable to update. Anybody know what to do?

  2. same thing:
'Your device does not support software upgrading via Kies.'

i've called both bell and samsung with no resolution

  3. Kies is unreliable sometimes for branded devices. Mostly carriers only release via Over The Air. Just check your Phone's Settings>software update.

If you can't update on Kies, grab the official stock ROM and manually flash using Odin. Google for some instruction.

  4. I spoke to a Samsun rep for Canada, and apparently the reason Kies is rejecting my update (symptoms above) is due to Kies not recognizing the firmware revision (KF6).

At first it was pointed out that my firmware wasn't official (even though I haven't touched it). After some pressing they admitted some KF6 units got out.

He is requesting of Korea that KF6 be a recognized firmware for Kies in the upgrade path, but I'm not holding my breath.
