Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 user across South East Asia will be getting another Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread firmware updates. The firmware build S5360DXLA1 is an official firmware update released by Samsung via Kies server across Asian Countries. This version has been build or modified as of  January 16th 2012, first released this year over South Asian Region. India already receives  a few days ago with firmware build S5360DDLA1. This will add the Galaxy Y  more improvements, enhancements and a greater user experience of Android Gingerbread. I9000XWJW1 Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread Samsung Galaxy S I9000 (Netherlands) Official Firmware Update 2012 Release!

Samsung Galaxy S I9000 users in Netherlands is getting new Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread (it's not Ice Cream Sandwich 4)firmware update with build number I9000XWJW1. There are two different builds for each specific product. The unbranded version which has the default CSC file I9000XENJV5 and the carrier branded version for 'KPN' which got the I9000KPNJV5 CSC file. This build has been leaked last December, but that one was too old enough for this one got the newest modification date from Samsung Developers. Both I9000XWJW1 firmwares has different build date. The KPN was being modified late January 5, 2012. The most newest build or got the latest modified date is the XEN - January 18, 2012.



So, for those advance users who preferably wanted to try out this firmware, you can grab it out on the link below and flash it your own risk using Odin downloader tool. Use the I9000XWJW1_I9000XENJV5  stock ROM file or flash with your default country CSC file if you're from other Regions in Europe and Asia.

I9100BVKL1 Orange Samsung Galaxy S II Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread Official Firmware Update Released!

Yes folks! Orange Samsung Galaxy S II users will be getting the Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread firmware update. The firmware build is I9100BVKL1 this an upgrade from previous build 2.3.5 I9100BVKJ4.
The updates were ready to the following region, Austria, Poland, Romania and Spain but we don't know the exact date of the official roll out. UK and France no signs of firmware updates yet, as we already digging up Orange support website but seems empty for any information for any software updates for their devices.
Anyway, just check it out this following couple of days, the 2.3.6 upgrade might be coming later. 

For those advance users, who can manually upgrade their devices. The I9100BVKL1 stock ROMs are now available for grab.

Update 30th January  2012:
France already getting the I9100BVKL1 update. Seems Orange UK still  left behind.

 

I9000XXJVU Android 2.3.6 Value Added Packed Upgrade on Samsung Galaxy S I9000 Changes and Features

Yes it does, since the Samsung Galaxy S I9000 reportedly can't get the Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich becuase of its hardware capability issues. Here come's the value packed firmware upgrade with added features such as Face Unlock - The camera features that is now working, users can take pictures while also capturing a video. This firmware will also set into a better I/O performance, faster auto-rotation from portrait to landscape mode, a Photo Editor from the Galaxy S II features, new lock screen sound etc.

Here's the added features and changes:
-Face Unlock
-Galaxy S2 Photo Editor
-Galaxy Note Lockscreen
-Camera is better and can also take picture while shooting video + Minor UI Change
-Auto-Rotation is fast - Fast switching from portrait to landscape
-FPS is a bit higher on 3D. But still not better than froyo.
-IO performance is better. Amazing.
-Quadrant first run: 1425
-Second run: 1643
-Browser is simply smoother.
-But 2 FPS on speed reading HTML5 test WTF? Something must be wrong with HTML5!
-182+1 Points on html5test.com.
-Avaible ram is 320mb.
-Notification bar turn back speed is faster and smoother.
-Gallery3D is faster and smoother.
-Task manager kills more app(not sure).
-Nenamark looks much smoother than JW1.
-Faster overall and this made me happy.

N7000DXKL3 Asia Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 Android 2.3.6 Gingebread Firmware Updates

Asian version of Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 is now getting the official Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread firmware updates. The firmware build number is N7000DXKL3 with a build date of  2011-12-23. This is an upgrade from previous build N7000DXKL1 and  N7000DXKK1  which are Android 2.3.5.
Almost south east Asian countries will receive the said update like Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Philippines. So just check out the firmware update on Kies or via OTA update notifications.

Yes folks, among all of us with the Samsung Galaxy S II I9100 in hand had been awaiting for the official release of the Android Ice cream Sandwich firmware update for our precious devices.
Well, here we go the first beta of an ICS build stock ROM had just been leak earlier before the New year 2012 take over. The two firmware build I9100XXKP4 and I9100XXKP8 shows in surface out of nowhere, this is an indication that the official ICS build for Galaxy S II is finally done and might only needs a few modification by the Samsung Devs to make it available officially.
